Wild Wednesdays - Fashion Untamed @ The VMA's!

The VMA’s are not too far gone. And if you know like I do...we saw some of the wildest most outrageous fashion statements made to date. I was in shock to see some of what was worn on the Red Carpet from the likes of Nicki Minaj, Kreayshawn and Jessie J. I understand that they are trying to stand out, but come on, who in their right mind thought that looked good? I sure as hell didn’t!

For all the mess that was on display at the VMA’s, there were a lot of great looks too! I loved Beyonce’s red dress and how she showed off her baby bump. She really stole the show with the announcement or should I say showing. Well, enough of my rambling, see and judge for yourself...cringe and or enjoy!

WTH was she thinking? No words!
Really? I wouldn't even dress my daughter like this!

The dress second from the left I can handle, but the rest of them have to GO!

I Love it! Check out the baby bump!

Tantalizing Tuesdays - We Want Curves!

Hello, fashion designers! Why are you still filling the runways at NYC Fashion Week with models so skinny they look like little fawns?

Women don’t want to be fawns, baby colts, pencils or skeletons! Women want to be fit, healthy and sexy! Women want to look great for themselves AND, yes, also for men.

That is a FACT! Women enjoy feeling alluring for the men in their lives… or for the men that they want to have in their lives.

And yes, while every woman wants to lose 5 or 10 lbs and is constantly working out or watching what she eats, no normal woman wants to look like the rail-thin models marching down the fashion runways at NY Fashion Week.

Those poor things have legs like sticks, bony knees, protruding clavicle bones, wraith-like arms and not a hint of hips , tummies or breasts. They are sexless!

So let me give you a clue as to what to put on the runways next year, and please don’t mess it up! This is your last chance...

We LOVE this look!

Hate this look!

Fashion Fridays - Little Black Dress...Exposed!

Friday Night aka Ladies Night is here! So as we push through the work day, our thoughts aren’t on the work we are doing at the moment(you know your tired of looking at that speadsheet girl!), our thoughts are on what we’re doing and where we’re going tonight! And you know if we’re stepping out, we have got to be sexy. And there is nothing sexier then the Little Black Dress or LBD as it is oftentimes referred to. A little black dress can take you many places! It can work at the office as long as it’s not to provocative, it can be causal and it can be the perfect little cocktail or party dress that turns heads as soon as you step in the room. The key to the LBD is how you accessorize it!

Seriously, every woman loves their little back dress because it helps to cover up our problem areas and is the perfect dress for those times when you’re feeling a bit bloated.

You can make the most of your LBD with the right accessories. A completely different look can be yours every time you slip on that little back dress and I will let you know how! Here are 5 ways to accessorize and create a different outfit every time you wear it.

#1. Vividly Bold Shoes - Now since I love shoes (a habit my husband feed sometime) this is one way I love to accessorize a little black dress. Stilettos, Pumps, Wedges of any color on the rainbow or color wheel will make your dress pop. Red, blue, pink, orange, green...any color will work. If your feeling adventurous, animal prints are another way to go. No matter what your preference, the key is to add some bold colors or print to your LBD.

#2. Prominent Handbag - If you’re someone that likes to wear flats or you’re just not a fan of wearing bold shoes, this idea is perfect for you. By wearing a bold or prominent handbag you can still able to add a touch of color or print to your little black dress. Small or large depends on the event, just be sure the colors are BOLD!

#3. Wear a Long or Chunky Necklace - I’m a jewelry designer as you can see. So my favorite way to accessorize my LBD is to wear a long or chunky necklace! This will help create a sophisticated look and make you stand out from the crowed. Again, it’s important to choose some bold colors, but silver and gold tones will also work well. Check out

#4. Wear a Scarf - This is a trick many like to use when they need to add a little bit of chic flair to their little black dress, and this works very well for a sophisticated office look. Grab your favorite scarf, it can be a silk scarf or even a chiffon scarf, and wrap it around your neck. You can wrap it slightly tightly if you have a define neck, though if you’re like me and your neck isn’t really that long, I suggest you keep it loose. You can leave the loose end of the ‘tie’ to one side. Opt for a scarf with a bold color or print for a more striking look.

#5. Add a Belt - This is one of the easiest things you can do to spice up your little black dress and it can also be the most effective. You can wear a thin belt, in a striking color or even animal print. Though if you want to be bold wear a wide belt in a color such as red, or even in an animal print. That will create a different look, and it will also flatten your figure as it will tuck in your waist, helping to create a more define look.

There you have it, 5 ways how you can change the look of  your little black dress to create a trendy and stylish look. Understand that your little black dress is just like a blank canvas. Be creative with how you wear your favorite LBD and do not be afraid to try out different bold things.

Thirtsy Thursday--Your Thirst For Fashion Fulfilled!!

Fall is upon us and so are the fall fashions! It’s after Labor Day, and ladies we know its time to step our shoe/boot swag up for the up coming season! So what are the trends for the 2011/2012 fall/winter season? I’m Glad you asked! Here is the TOP 10 shoe trends for this season.

#1. Snake Skin is in! The big name and some of my favorite designers are opting to showcase reptile skin shoes/boots in their fall/winter collections. Giants in the shoe industry such as Louis V. and Valentino are blessing displays with some or their snake skin styles! Quick tip...look into Balenciaga, you’ll thank me later!

#2. Although not a staple of my collection, Patent Leather has its place. Many will argue that patent leather is gorgeous! So if patent leather is something that tickles your fancy, check out offering from Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs just to name a few. Thought I might provide you with a link...check it out.

#3. Now if your looking for that luxurious look, Suede is something that should be a permanent fixture in your shoe arsenal. Designers know this because every season we see a variety of designs making use of the lovely material. Looking for suede, just check with Michael Kors and Givenchy to fill that void.

#4. There are sure to be some formal events in your future fall/winter. Satin shoes should be and easy choice for such occasions. Ladies...these are not an everyday wear, so take good care of em if you want to get your moneys worth! Jason Wu and Donna Karen have got some that you will love.

#5. Wedges! Need I say more? Wedges have been all the craze during the spring/summer. We have seen some outrageous yet fabulous wedge colors and styles. Wedges have carried over to the fall/winter but in more modest and elegant designs. Keep the wedges coming, I love em and will continue to add them to the collection.

Now that we have tackled my favs...lets finish out the top ten.

#6. Lacing
#7. Plenty of Buckles
#8. Chunky Heels
#9. Spike Heels
#10. Socks in Shoes

Shoes are my weakness in any season and I’m sure they are yours too. So armed with this information have fun and happy hunting!
